Calculators

Environmental Calculator

University of Ljubljana (UL), French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE)

The Environmental Footprint Calculator (EFC) provides essential insights into the environmental impacts of farm digitalisation by displaying pre-set results for selected use cases from the CODECS Living Labs. The results of the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) carried out at farm level highlight the main factors contributing to the environmental impacts of agricultural practices before and after the adoption of digital technologies. The user (farmer, advisor, education) of the EFC can change some parameter and display the changes in the impacts categories.

Economic Cost Calculator

University of Liubljana, ELLINIKOS GEORGIKOS ORGANISMOS - DIMITRA (ELGO)

The Economic Cost Calculator (ECC) is a decision-support tool that evaluates the costs and benefits of adopting digital technologies in agriculture. It helps farmers, advisors, and policymakers assess investment attractiveness by combining a structured economic database, a user-friendly interface for inputting variables, and clear data visualisations of results. Although developed with agriculture in mind, the ECC also offers value in business planning, policy analysis, academic research, and personal finance for broader cost-benefit evaluations.

Technology Assessment Tool

AG FUTURA (AGFT)

The Technology Assessment Tool (TAT) aims to evaluate digital technologies at the farm and business process level, helping Living Labs identify which solutions best match their priorities and user needs. By combining expert impact scores with farmers’ requirements, it provides a structured and objective assessment of technology performance, effectiveness, and sustainability. The primary users of this tool are agricultural experts, farmers, and technology providers.

Multi-criteria Assessment Tool

Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU)

The Multi-criteria Assessment Tool (MAT) focuses on assessing relevant scenarios for economic, social, and environmental sustainability within the context of a digital ecosystem. Scenario evaluate the sustainability of different digital ecosystems following a multicriteria approach where each scenario integrates a range of alternatives, criteria and the corresponding evaluations of each alternative against these criteria. By applying a structured scoring system, the tool provides decision-makers with a comprehensive view of how digital ecosystems perform across the three dimensions of sustainability, ensuring informed choices for future adoption and development.
